The Bay Hotel, Kinghorn – Leanne and Gary’s Wedding
It’s Been Ages!
In a tale as old as time Leanne and Gary met at work in 2012 and pretty soon became inseparable. Gary likes to be organised and had already made sure that he had chosen a ring with Leanne to make sure he got one that she wanted. But in 2018 he still surprised her by going down on bended knee to pop the question.
I say it’s been ages as not long after that Gary got in touch to book me as their wedding photographer. Then everyone’s life got put on hold for a couple of years! Thankfully almost all of their original wedding suppliers (including me) could do the rescheduled date.
A Tale Of Two Houses
Now, far be it for me to say that a lot of grooms are simply there to make up the numbers…but a lot don’t get involved in much of the planning (that’s fair, right?). I mentioned that Gary was organised…he was definitely in the driving seat planning this wedding.
Leanne was getting ready at her parent’s house with her Bridesmaids. Leanne’s mum is a woman after my own heart, a feeder. There were platters of sandwiches, cakes, fruit, you name it. The girls were being very well looked after and the atmosphere was pretty chill.
Over to my couple’s house were Gary, his brothers, and Leanne’s sons were getting ready and it was slightly more tense as the guys tried to find razors, pocket squares, and attach buttonholes.
Once they were all suited and booted they did make a handsome group.
Church O’Clock
The guys arrived and swiftly went across the road to the Junction Bar, Leanne and Gary’s local haunt. As the piper started to play outside the church I have never seen so many wedding guests file out of one pub! Honestly, it must be a tardis in there as they just kept on coming.
Leanne and her proud dad arrived and she looked breathtaking in her illusion dress from Maddison Rose Bridal with her bouquet from Fife Flowers.
Gary’s first words when he saw her were, “Wow! Just Wow”. He couldn’t take his eyes off her during the whole service.
Room With A View
The reception was being held at The Bay Hotel at Pettycur Bay which looks out over the picturesque Fife Bay. Leanne and Gary had over 100 guests attending so to get them all in the group photos I needed to get to one of the hotel room balconies and look down on them all. Only problem was I had about twenty minutes before the hotel needed the room for guests. So my bossy alter ego had to come out to herd everyone in place!
Totally worth it though.
We were lucky with the group photos as the sky was getting darker and darker.
I chanced my luck and took Leanne and Gary to the front of the hotel to get some images just of them with the bay behind them. It made for a very dramatic backdrop.
As we walked back the heavens opened. Luckily my trusty wedding umbrellas were on hand to keep Leanne dry.
The Craic
Gary is from Ireland and his two brothers had traveled over to be his best men and they were hilarious.
After the meal, the sun was back out so everyone could mingle on the terrace and take in the stunning scenery.
Top Night
Leanne and Gary had opted for a band to play their reception and as they were setting up and warming up you could tell they were in for a good night.
After they cut their stunning cake from Creative Slices it was onto the dance floor and I am in love with the images I converted to black and white of them dancing.
One of Gary’s wee nephews gave the band a run for their money with his inflatable guitar. Very very cute!
As the dance floor started to fill up my time with this lovely couple and their two welcoming families drew to a close.
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Blair. You rock!
