Castlecarry Hotel – Gemma and David’s Wedding
Slowly catching up on sharing all my gorgeous wedding couples with you. Here is the story of Gemma and David’s day.
F***ked Up Beyond All Recognition
No, I haven’t lost the plot and just started spouting expletives! Gemma and David met at the well-known FUBAR nightclub in Stirling in 2017 and that’s what the name stands for! It was a popular haunt when I was at Uni there so delighted to see it’s still going strong many (many) years later.
Fast forward to Christmas morning 2019 and David surprised Gemma with a marriage proposal.
Cool As A Cucumber
Before Gemma and her bride tribe arrived David was very relaxed. Wandering about, chatting with guests, and enjoying a beverage with his best man.
The venue was a new one for me, the Castlecarry Hotel. Their venue room was beautiful with tons of fairy lights everywhere.
Once it was almost time for the wedding to begin, David and the guests made their way inside before the bride arrived.
Gemma and her two sisters as Bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning in their dresses from Wed2B. MD Hair and make-up by Natalie Brown completed the look. But can we just take a moment and swoon over how cute Gemma and David’s sons look in their coordinating outfits?
And Then It Hit Me
The guests were seated, the registrar ready to go and I was primed with my camera ready to capture Gemma walking down the aisle.
I think then the enormity of the day hit David and he got happy emotional. A reassuring word from his best man and he was ready.
I love seeing Grooms get emotional at their wedding. Always makes me a little glassy eyed too.
I Do
It was a quick wedding service and Gemma and David couldn’t wait to be Mr and Mrs.
I had to get my emergency handkerchief out for the mother of the groom as she watched her wee boy get wed.
We Did It
Such a lovely bunch of guests. Both families clearly delighted at this union.
Nobody more delighted than Gemma and David 🙂
Sister Act
After the group and family pictures I got some of Gemma with her sisters.
Along with their pretty bouquets from Groovy Ruby.
Trying to get pictures of Gemma and David’s sons was a different matter, especially as their three-year-old didn’t want to stay in one place for a second!
Just The Two Of You (And Me)
After I’d finished torturing the kids, the hotel had a lovely area of landscaping that was perfect for my newlywed couple.
When we met for our pre-wedding consultation Gemma and David told me they’d picked me for my relaxed style and that they didn’t want anything too posed or formal.
That suited me absolutely fine and these two were a joy to work with, making them relax and laugh was easy.
The Big Reveal
Gemma had a secret. Because David is a huge Hoops fan she had arranged for the wedding cake to have a bit of a surprise for him. I managed to capture his reaction.
From the front, a traditional wedding cake made by Penny’s Patisserie.
But from the back…
I think Gemma got maximum wifey points for that!
Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Corcoran.
