Personal Branding Vs Business Headshot

Personal Branding Vs Business Headshot

Personal branding photography is just the new name for headshots, right? Think again.

Personal branding photography is growing in popularity in a world where YOU are your brand. Great imagery is a sure-fire way to grow your brand in a noisy online space. Personal branding photography means creating a bank of bespoke on-brand images that you can draw from every day to help be seen and to save time. (No more scrabbling around at the last minute for an image to post or worse yet relying on the same old stock images that everyone else is using).

The Headshot

Business Headshots - JB Moments Photography

What is a Business Headshot?

A brilliant business headshot is a recent image of you that looks like you at your professional best. Clients should recognise you instantly in real life from seeing your headshot, strengthening the bonds of trust and familiarity (so that one from 8 years ago, when your hair was a different colour, won’t cut it!).

A good headshot will show a glimpse of your personality, helping you stand out from the crowd and help your audience get to know you.

A great headshot will work wonders throughout your website, especially on your about page, and will be perfect for your social media profile picture.

According to LinkedIn, a professional headshot on your LinkedIn profile makes the audience 14 more times more likely to click through to view your profile. As opposed to the family holiday snap that you’ve zoomed into.

What it looks like

Typically, your headshot will consist of a simple background with you being the main point of focus. You will most probably be looking at the camera and smiling.

Who is a Business Headshot for?

A headshot session is perfect for anyone who requires images for;

  • their profile picture
  • company structure charts
  • the ‘about’ page and elsewhere on their website
  • articles and blog posts

What is Personal Branding Photography?

While a headshot shows potential clients what you look like and hints at your personality, your personal branding photography captures your whole story.

Personal branding photography shows who you are and what you do, telling the story of you and your brand. It will contain headshots and much more.

Personal Branding by JB Moments Photography

How it works

Your personal branding photographer will work closely with you to design your photography session in order to ensure it aligns with your brand values and style.

Personal branding photography sessions with me involve a full planning meeting to tease out ideas and design your session, ensuring we are on the same page when it comes to giving your brand the visibility it deserves. (You’ll even have homework to do beforehand in your very own client workbook.)

What it looks like

As well as capturing professional, well-lit headshots, your personal branding photography session will illustrate the real YOU behind the brand. (Potential clients love to see ‘behind the scenes.)

Personal Branding by JB Moments Photography

Personal Branding by JB Moments Photography

My clients like to portray aspects of themselves in their workplaces as well as hint at what they enjoy doing in their own time. For example, business owners are often captured during phone calls with clients, working on creations, walking with their dogs, playing with their children or reading their favourite books. Your personal brand photography session is likely to capture you DOING what you do as well as those essential headshots. (Some of your brand images might not even be of you.)

Where can Personal Branding Images be used?

Clients love to use their images;

  • on social media posts, they have a bank of on-brand images to pull from every single day
  • for social media banners and profile pictures
  • on sales and landing pages
  • throughout their website
  • as an image to use for speaking engagements
  • in printed marketing materials
  • in blog posts and articles
  • as images in presentations

and many more ways.

How to show up for your Business when you don’t like showing up.

How to show up for your Business when you don’t like showing up.

The best way to stand out from the competition online, to be seen by your potential clients, and build their trust, is to show your face on your platforms regularly.

Check out your Instagram insights if you are in any doubt. Your best-performing posts probably contain an element of you? People love to see the face behind the business brand.

However, when you’d rather not face the camera, or just need inspiration for other options, you can still show YOU. Here’s how to do the next best thing without resorting to millions of boring product shots or stock photography.

Make your phone self-timer your friend

The self-timer on your phone will help you take images of yourself, whether showing your face or not. Your camera phone should have the option to delay the time between pressing the shutter and it taking the image.  This is good to know when taking your own self-portraits because it means you can step away from your camera and not have that unattractive ‘selfie arm’ and shoulder in view. It’s also the way to go when you need to show both hands- handy when not showing your face.

Personal Brand Photography - JB Moments Photography
How not to show up for your brand!

Show your hands at work

Most of the suggestions below involve showing your hands. Hands can be emotive even when your face may not be visible. Show potential clients how you can help them by doing what you do. Photograph those hands working, creating, writing, texting, preparing… Your audience will love that ‘behind the scenes’ glimpse into your business world.

Hold Something

It may sound obvious but holding an item allows you to plan your image easily to help set the scene. Holding an object close to you means you can use the colours of your clothing as the background, or hint at the surroundings, telling your story if you don’t crop too closely.

Personal Brand Photography - JB Moments Photography

Images like this can be repurposed to portray different themes depending on your intended message. For example, I could use this image to illustrate a pensive day working from home, a post about my morning ritual (lots of tea), or my evening ritual (lots of wine!), or it could be used in a blog post about alternatives to portraits.

Choosing colours within your colour palette as Tracy did makes for a professional, on-brand feel.

You can also share a bit more of your personality, and hobbies to help potential clients and customers get to know and trust you. Pets also make excellent subjects as you can focus on their face instead of your own!

Hold your message up

Convey your brand message by holding a framed quote. Or write your message on a chalkboard, in a  notebook, or even on a piece of paper. If you’re competent in Photoshop or other editing software (like Canva), you could keep the paper / notebook / chalkboard blank and add text later (meaning you can re-purpose your images depending on your message or business campaign).

Personal Brand Photography - JB Moments Photography
Did you pick up on my subliminal message? Shot with mobile phone on self-timer.

Show your feet

Consider showing your feet instead of your hands. The environment and mood can be conveyed through your choice of footwear and the location. You could wear your slippers on a furry rug, or your wellies in the mud. Or go barefoot in the sand if you feel like it.

Personal Brand Photography - JB Moments Photography

Show your behind!

Photograph yourself from behind. It’s still a portrait. You could be walking the dogs, or your kids, heading to a business meeting, taking a photo…

Hand gestures

Images of hand gestures can be used to convey all sorts of messages in your business posts. Your hands rather than stock images add an extra level of authenticity that your customers will love.

Prop shots

Use your props in the foreground and position yourself in the background. This way you can hint that you’re there, without being the star of the show.

Personal Brand Photography - JB Moments Photography

So…

…while you might not feel like showing up on camera every day, try to do it often, whatever you think you look like. Embrace this moment in time and get creative with your look. The trend of Instagram perfection is over. This is a time of realism- you have permission not to be perfectly groomed, and your audience will love you all the more for it.

And if you don’t think your mobile phone skills are up to the job. Book a Personal Branding shoot for your business…it’s easier and cheaper than you think!

Personal Branding Shoot – Ethical Beauty with Tracy

Dog People Are My People

I first met Tracy when we were both out walking our respective dogs. My boys loved Tracy’s good-natured Doodle Max and so we would natter whilst the dogs chased each other. Fast forward a little and I am a regular customer of The Body Shop goodies from Tracy. And when she wanted some branding photography done…She knew who to call.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

It’s fair to say Max features in a lot of the pictures!

Branding Plan

At our consultation, we agreed that Tracy wanted a mix of images that reflected her brand and her personality. And a mix of business and personal. If I had to describe Tracy I would say fun-loving and with a huge heart so I wanted to make sure her images conveyed that as well.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

As usual, when I do a branding shoot for someone that works predominately from home I ended up in almost every room of the house taking photos!

We started in Tracy’s office to capture some ‘at work’ images. But we couldn’t resist also capturing where Max likes to sit when Tracy is working!

Whipping Up Some Marketing Images

When I asked Tracy what she does in her spare time, one of the things she mentioned was hanging out with her daughter whilst she baked.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

I loved the set of images we captured in the kitchen of them. Both being very good sports at my ridiculous directions!

Take Me To The Bedroom

Okay, this isn’t where I usually end up with clients but as Tracy’s business is all about beauty products we knew we could have some fun with face masks and a ‘girls night in’ set of images.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Of course, Max wanted in on the action as well, and well, with that face, how could you resist?

Good Sport

As I said, Tracy is good fun and was such a good sport on the day. As well as selling beauty products, Tracy is also a makeup artist. We captured some ‘sensible’ images of that and then…

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments PhotographyThat said, look at those amazing cheekbones! We were having way too much fun at this point.

Coffee Break

We wanted to add some location images to Tracy’s gallery as well so she organised a team meeting at her favourite local coffee shop Savana. I like to get as many images as possible for my clients in any location so as well as her team images I captured her working remotely as well.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

I love working with like-minded businesswomen like Tracy and I can’t wait for our next session!

Personal Branding Shoot – Kuka Studios

Personal Branding Shoot – Kuka Studios

It should be illegal to have this much fun whilst working – but here I am living my best life! Personal Branding shoots are so much fun 🙂

My Branding

My relationship with the wonderful Kuka Studios started when I was looking for a website and logo designer in 2017. A friend suggested this husband and wife dream team and it remains one of the best decisions I have made for my business.

My logo gets plastered on anything that stands still long enough and 4 and a half years on I am still in love with it. A true testimony to the fact that Kuka properly listens to what you need and gets it right. The same goes for my website.

We bonded over a love of all things skulls and every year I am delighted to shoot their kids back to school pictures for them.

Their Branding

Imagine how honoured I felt when they got in touch to ask if I would shoot some images for their re-branding (if you can’t imagnine – very)!

I can’t share many of the images from their fab photoshoot as the re-brand hasn’t happened yet. This is what happens when you are a highly succesful digital maketing studio. You never have time for your own website.

Kuka Studios can help with all sorts of stuff from website and logo design to copywriting and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to training and education. Jill and Harry are a super talented couple and I wanted to capture that as part of the shoot. I think it is one of the USPs of their business.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

They also get to hang out (sorry work) with their good friend and fellow copywriter and artist Kathleen.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments PhotographyI love it when people tell me they hate getting their picture taken. I just keep spouting rubbish until I get them to laugh. Job done!

All The Team Members

As well as cute kitten named Thor, Jill and Harry also have a mahoosive floof called Loki. I had to include him in the photoshoot.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Isn’t he gorgeous?

At Your Service

People often ask what do you shoot at a branding photoshoot if the company provides a service rather than a physical product?

As well as capturing behind the scenes images of everyone hard at work I also take pictures of them doing things they enjoy outside of work and their passions. This ensures a full gallery of images that can be used not just for a website re-design but for social media posting as well.

As a copy writer Jill has a love for all things stationery.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

The company ethos is warm and welcoming with an emthasis on taking the time to listen to their customers needs and coming up with tailored solutions for them.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Is there a better way to do that, than over tea and cake? Erm – I don’t think so.

I can’t wait to see how they use all their images. I know for sure that it wont be in anyway boring.

Personal Branding Shoot – Your Wellness in Mind

Personal Branding Shoot – Your Wellness in Mind

Man alive I am so behind on blogging my sessions. But I can’t feel bad about it as I am behind because I have been so busy shooting 🙂

Aloe me to introduce my client

Yes, you read that right, Mhairi is the owner and founder of Your Wellness in Mind where she helps health-seeking individuals source high-quality wellness products to enable them to look and feel better. A big part of her ethos is the many benefits of Aloe Vera, but more on that later. I just wanted to explain my glorious pun!

Place of work

Personal Branding images cover a whole range of things but when using them to post on social media or your website your clients love to see behind the scenes at your place of work.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Mhairi has a gorgeous home office that we took lots of images in but she can literally work anywhere so we also took some pictures in a local park and one of her favourite coffee shops.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Doing what you do

The people that become your tribe also like to see you in action. I got to shoot Mhairi meeting with a customer and using her hero products.

The good news is that you don’t have to be in every shot (unless you want to!). It is always useful to have a library of beautifully curated product and lifestyle images that you can pull from when the need arises.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

People buy from people

In every personal branding shoot, I try to capture the personality of the business owner. As a busy mum, a business owner, and an NHS worker she has very little free time to herself. So every moment is precious.

We took some gorgeous photos with her daughter and also showing what Mhairi likes to do when she does get a spare moment. One of those things is watching movies.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

I always come away from each personal branding session totally inspired by the drive and commitment each owner puts into their business and Mhairi was no exception. I also came away with a much better appreciation of all the benefits aloe Vera can have on the body both externally and internally and now happily take an aloe vera gel shot every morning. Want to see what aloe vera can do for you? Join Mhairi’s Wellness Community.

Personal Branding Shoot – Falkirk Sewing Studio

Personal Branding Shoot – Falkirk Sewing Studio

Falkirk Sewing Studio is an amazing social enterprise formed in June 2019 to benefit the Falkirk community. Their studio is based at the Callendar Square Shopping Centre in Falkirk. Here, they provide the right environment to promote sewing and other creative art and craft activities for newcomers, women, children, minority groups including ethnic minorities, LGBTI and anyone who feels they would benefit from inclusion in the project.

Check out the hand crafted sign!

The main woman I met behind this inspiring space is Uatandua Kahere. If I could peek inside this Wonder Woman’s brain I’m sure I would be exhausted after a few seconds.

As well as the sewing studio she runs Kahere Kilts and makes bespoke kilts from all manner of materials, many that are up cycled.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

She also makes organic toiletries and I’m sure a whole host of other things that we didn’t even scratch the surface of in our two hour shoot.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Sew be it

You know I love a pun, just lean into it. I had to show Uatandua doing what she does.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Wool the world

Sorry not sorry for that one, it’s brilliant! One of the main thing Uatandua needed from me was good images of her wool stock to go onto her new website to enable people to buy online. I spent a lot of time photographing balls of wool!

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Artists at Work

Uatandua is the only one working in the space. Other artists also use it as their studio space.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

And also to display and sell their pieces.

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Well worth a browse, especially if you are looking for unique local Christmas gifts.

Classes and Groups

The space is great for creative groups to have a safe space to get together and do what they love. Whilst I was in taking pictures there was a local chochet group meeting. You should see how fast their fingers were!!

Commercial Photographer - JB Moments Photography

Uatandua has also added classes for all manner of creative projects to her website for people to book.

The Future

As large department stores and shops have closed down in Falkirk the high street, like many others up and down the UK has become empty and less inviting. Most people are simply doing their shopping online from the comfort of their own home.

Iniatitives like this one are breathing new life into tired old high streets and bringing back a sense of community and belonging. I for one think that deserves to be celebrated.

Delighted to have been involved in some small way. Dissapointed that nobody has guessed my little joke I gave them whilst photographing all their haberdashery stock!

Do you get it???

Answer: It's that old saying 'Pins & Needles' of course!

Personal Branding Shoot – OOSHASC

Personal Branding Shoot – OOSHASC

A couple of weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Mel Anderson the owner of OOSHASC for her personal branding shoot. And I say absolute pleasure because Mel is one of those people who makes you feel like a BFF the moment you meet her. We met virtually through the wonderful Facebook Group Women Together Network a few months ago and at our pre-shoot Zoom consultation, I knew she was going to be fun to shoot. But when we finally met in the flesh for her shoot, it was like I’d known her for years.

Building a great rapport with your client is so important for a Personal Branding shoot. I knew instantly I was going to get some great images with Mel.

Not sure what personal branding photography is? Unsure if you need it for your business or not? You can check out a helpful guide here 🙂

OOSHASC???

Personal Branding Photography by JB Moments Photography

OOSHASC stands for Once Owned Should Have A Second Chance and is a high-end preloved clothing boutique that Mel runs from within the grounds of her house in Dollar. It’s a great idea to buck the current (and unsustainable) fast fashion trend and ensure that quality garments get re-worn rather than end up in landfill.

Mel has been running the business since 2012 and the C-19 lockdown made her rethink her online presence and appeal to a much wider audience. I urge you to check out her Facebook Lives as she gives the QVC presenters a run for their money!

Her brand colours are pink and purple so you’ll see those crop up a lot in the images I took.

Behind The Scenes

Social Media loves to know what goes on behind the scenes (or BTS if you’re feeling fly). For every business that is different. For Mel, it was important to document what happens to clothes once she takes them in and the care and attention she gives them before they go out on her racks.

I ask all my Personal Branding Clients what tools they use in their business. I like to make sure we incorporate them into the images.

Personal Branding Photography by JB Moments Photography

One of Mel’s tools is her iron and steamer so I put her to work! look at that gorgeous smile. What a hottie!

Mess With My Images

When I capture wedding and portrait images my contract very clearly asks people not to tamper with my images by adding filters etc. When it comes to a personal branding shoot…all bets are off. I encourage you to crop, add text, add a colour wash, etc to make them fit your brand aesthetic.

Personal Branding Photography by JB Moments Photography

With that in mind, I often include a few ‘whiteboard’ shots like the one above. Mel could easily use an app like Canva to add quotes, thank you messages, sale news or any other thing she likes!

Flat Lays

Where appropriate I also like to include some flat lay. I also show the client how to take great flat lay images themselves with their phones. Clothing is perfect for a flat lay and Mel picked out a cute first date outfit for me to use.

Personal Branding Photography by JB Moments Photography

All Work And No Play

We also took images around the shop, with Mel’s customers and many many more but it would be remiss of me to steal Mel’s thunder.

Likewise, we took lots of images of Mel being Mel in her spare time, including a few surprises that I can’t wait to see how she uses!Personal Branding Photography by JB Moments Photography

I can share this one as Mel has already used. Needless to say Alfie and Purdie her two beautiful labs feature quite heavily.

This was a 2-hour session but it felt like 5 minutes. It’s true what they say that time flies when you’re having fun and I haven’t laughed so much in ages.

Yet again proving that I have the best clients. #LoveMyJob

What is Personal Branding Photography & why does your Business need it?

What on earth is Personal Branding Photography & why does your Business need it?

More than just a headshot!

What is Personal Branding Photography?

The concept of branding is more important now than ever. With the enormous boom in social media in the last few years everyone, from teenagers to executives, is developing their online branding. A brand, as you know, is not just a logo or a set of colours; a brand is the whole business. “Brand” covers everything from packaging to ethos, and it’s how businesses portray themselves to their clients and showcase the goods and/or services they provide.

Branding photography
Lifestyle shoot of product being enjoyed.

Personal branding photography is photography that reflects the spirit of the business

One of the best ways to define a business is through images. Personal branding photography is thriving right now because people understand the importance of personalising their offerings—whether that be a service or a product.

Personal branding sessions are becoming very popular for small businesses; a single headshot is no longer enough! In the endless search for content, businesses now need to create posts for their Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter accounts as well as their LinkedIn profiles and websites. Not to mention flyers, business cards, newsletters, and other promotional stuff!

A comprehensive and well-planned brand session is a great foundation on which to build a consistent brand persona. It’s important to show different parts of the business to their clients. Yes, it’s nice to see a smiling face in a headshot; but it’s also great to see the business owner in action!

Branding photography
Portrait of illustrator doing what she does best!

What if I don’t offer a product?

For a business that creates a product, clients will love to see the making process as well as images of the finished product and styled shots of it in use.

If the business provides a service, it’s important to showcase how they interact with clients.

How I Prepare a Client for Their Personal Branding Photography Session

It is essential I get to know my client or business owner’s needs well in advance. As businesses, branding, and personality are so intertwined these days, it’s important to focus on all aspects.

The best way to do this is to use my personal branding photography preparation guide to find out everything I need to know about my client and their business. Before a session, I will meet with a client or business owner, speak to them over the phone and interact via email to make sure I have all the answers I need.

I will study their existing website, social media platforms, and responses to my questions to get a feel for their brand. Can I help them to portray themselves in a better way?

Working Together

Although clients understand the importance of a personal branding session, most will need guidance on the best way to capture their product and service. Planning the session together is essential. I use my expertise to collaborate with my client or business owner to show off their work in the best possible way.

Every Session is Different

Each client is unique and has their own set of requirements. No two assignments will be the same. I’ve photographed creators, illustrators, jewellers, rum distillers, and a writer over the last few years. Each shoot has been approached and planned in a different way.

Branding photography
Product shot

How long does a shoot last?

As personal branding photography is so multi-faceted, there will always be many different parts to a branding session. It’s really important to capture portraits of my client (everyone still needs a headshot, right?), but it’s equally important to capture things like:

  • my client at work
  • interactions with their own clients
  • products (styled in context and/or as a flat lay)
  • work in progress

This can be across a few locations and can take a couple of hours. So sometimes it works best to split the branding session into two shoots if that works best.

Branding photography
Styled product and packaging shoot.

How are the images delivered?

Most personal branding clients want their images provided digitally. My clients use their images across all their social media platforms as well as on their websites. So I deliver a curated library of digital images for them to download and use. They are provided in a social media resolution, ready to drop into websites or Instagram, etc. And in a higher resolution for any printed needs, they may have. For example, the jeweller wanted to use her product images on a show banner.

Branding photography
Me when I still dyed my hair! Used for lots of social media posts.

So there you have it. The days of grabbing a stock image of the internet are over (especially those ones that still have the copyright printed all over them!). Now more than ever businesses need to stand out from the competition online. The best way to do that is with images that convey who you are and what you are selling.

Get in touch if you would like more information.

Product Photography – A New Venture

Product Photography

I love taking pictures and I love jewellery! So when my favourite cousin-in-law and jewellery designer in her own right, (check her out here – she takes commissions), asked me if I wanted to try photographing some of her students work from Fife College, I said Yes! It was just the creative challenge I needed.

Plenty of Wedding Practice

I often take close-up images of bridal jewellery and wedding rings. I  have invested heavily in a top-quality macro lens. Taking pictures of wedding and engagement rings have also taught me certain techniques like focussing on the claw of a stone rather than the precious gem itself.

But that is all in the heat of the moment. Usually when a bride and her maids are careering about trying to get ready. For this project, it was just me, my studio, a lightbox and various props I’d found around the house that I thought would add some textural interest.

Standard product images

Traditional images for brochures are simple ‘on white’ images that allow the jewellery to take centre stage with no distractions. Simple to look at, harder to execute but I love how this necklace turned out and so did the college 🙂

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

Pushing the boundaries

I wanted to try different textures as well that would highlight the individual pieces and give jewellers some other options for their websites or social media.

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

I love how the wood on this bowl makes this pendant pop.

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

And how the blue glass echoes the colours in the brooch but is suitably out of focus so not to distract from it.

Then things got really exciting

A former Fife College student saw my examples and wanted some pictures taken. We were able to chat about her brand colours and she brought some gorgeous old slate and rusted iron with her to use as backgrounds for her beautiful pieces.

Just like my lifestyle photography interaction with the client to understand their personality is crucial. Just with jewellery, I am trying to capture their personality through the pieces of art rather than their facial expressions.

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

How fantastic is this rusty iron as a background?

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

Or this old slate?

Product Photography by JB Moments Photography

With ready-made earring holes!

Even better she left all these backgrounds with me to keep for other shoots. I know I say it a lot but I fricken love my job and the fact that I can constantly try new stuff out. 🙂

Guest Blog – Lorna Shaw on Professional Headshots

Corporate Headshots in Edinburgh - JB Moments Photography

Upon finding myself willingly adding what can only really be described as a bad photo of a senior leader into the header of an email they were going to be sending out, I started questioning my own complicity in allowing this photo suicide to take place alongside an otherwise carefully crafted message.

You see, as a comms manager, part of my role is to ensure that our leaders are presented in the best way. That’s not just in written form but in visual representation too, you know, putting faces to names and making messages more personal in the process.
It was at this juncture that the penny dropped; our management team needed saved from their own photo demise! We needed a photoshoot to get professional headshots done. We needed some sort of credible visual representation of our leaders and these badly cropped photos (was that someone’s ex hanging off their arm?) were not cutting it. We needed JB, is what I concluded.
I’d been on the receiving end of JB’s camera lens before (it’s a very kind and flattering lens, I must add) and knew that she would pitch up, put them all at ease and crack on with taking really good pictures of them all, without so much as a feigned smile or forced grin amongst them.
A natural people person, JB instantly put everyone at ease. Clickity click, click click click and voila! the job was done. The very next day we had all the proofs sent through to view online and choose which ones to get produced in the final hi-res finish. As it happens, the team were struggling to pick which ones they wanted to use – because they were all so good – so JB kindly produced the whole lot in final versions and sent them through.
Upon using one of the new headshot photos in a business email message the following week, the email in question solicited a few comments. None of which were anything to do with the content, but all about this manager’s new headshot photo!
‘Is she a model?’ ‘Wow! What a cracking photo!’ ‘Who’s the photographer? I need one of these!’ were some of the responses it got.
A simple but very effective professional headshot photo can absolutely make or break a communication. So my advice is really straight forward; if you want to be visually represented in the best possible light, literally, then go to JB and let the pro create your show!
These views are all Lorna's own and are in not those of the company she works for. She has also not taken any money or bribes from me!
