Children & Animals
Phew! What a week it’s been at JB Moments Photography. Lots of children and the odd animal and for all those that tell you never to work with children or animals…ignore them, it’s great fun ๐
Kincardine Toddler Group
First up was my annual visit to Kincardine Toddler Group for their photos. This year due to C-19 I had to take extra precautions and we operated a strict one family in at a time policy. I still managed to get through 35 families and 600 images! The local school hadn’t offered school photos this year due to the pandemic so as it was an inset day many older brothers and sisters came along in their school uniforms so they could get pictures. This makes my heart sing. Pictures are important, people!
Grandkids and a puppy
Next day I had a location shoot for a grandma who wanted her new lab puppy pictured with her 4 grandchildren. Two of whom are toddlers and one who isn’t even one yet. Sure, I said. What could possibly go wrong?
Cue bedlam of the very best kind. Get all the children in place the dog runs off. Get the dog in place one of the toddlers decides to make a break for it. Then the baby gets angry. The only thing you can do in this situation is keep calm and try out lots of different things.

Meet Juke, arguably the best behaved of a very spirited bunch. Such a little cutie.
Finally, I decided that in order for the shot to work, grandma was going to have to be in it.
A few head swaps later in post-processing and we have the shot. Best of all, Gran was delighted with the photos.
More Grandkids
That afternoon I was back in the studio for a group of older grandkids. This is going to be a portrait for a lucky grandma for Christmas so I’m not going to share any images here and ruin the surprise.
Baby Cora
Be still my heart, on Sunday morning, two-week new baby Cora graced the studio with her tiny presence.
A beautiful baby girl for a family already blessed with two super cute sons. It was fair to say this 3 and 5-year-old were quite delighted with their new baby sister.
They were both happy to pose with her and were super cute about it. All the heart eyes!
As you can see good genes clearly run in the family ๐
Once the boys had done their modelling and been rewarded with a pick from the lollipop tree dad took them off to their sports training and left just us girls to hang.
Isn’t she just perfection?
We finished the session with my signature ‘mugshots’ and Miss Cora gave me lots of wonderful eye contact. I love these images.
So next time anyone says ‘never work with children or animals’ I say – Don’t knock it until you try it. You might just love it ๐
