The Gift of Memories — Why It’s Time to Plan Your Christmas Photo Gifts Now

Categories

Every year it happens. One minute we’re carving pumpkins and the next it’s “Alexa, play Mariah Carey.”

Christmas sneaks up faster than Santa down a chimney, and suddenly I start getting lovely messages from people wanting a last-minute family photoshoot — “just something quick so we can give Mum a canvas for Christmas.”

And I hate having to say no.
Not because I don’t want to capture those special moments (you know I do!) but because, quite simply, there isn’t enough time.

Why timing matters

Here’s the not-so-festive truth: beautiful photo products take time to create.
Once your session is over, I carefully cull, edit, and prepare your gallery, making sure every image meets my professional standards.

Then, when you’ve chosen your favourites, they’re lovingly sent off to my professional print lab — and these elves are busy! Their Christmas order cut-off dates start from mid-December, depending on the product.

That means if you book a shoot on, say, the 20th of December and want a framed print for Granny to unwrap — it’s just not possible to get it back in time.

The kind of gifts that make people cry (in a good way)

There’s nothing quite like watching someone open a gift that captures the people — or pets — they love most.

Some of my favourite Christmas photo gifts include:
✨ A framed print of all the grandchildren for grandparents
✨ A canvas of a beloved pet
✨ A photo album filled with family milestones from the past year
✨ A “grow with me” collage of baby’s first year

These are the gifts that make people pause, smile, and maybe even shed a happy tear. They’re heartfelt, timeless, and guaranteed not to be regifted!

Book early, relax later

So, if you’re planning to give the gift of photos this Christmas, now’s the time to get your session booked.

That gives me enough time to work my editing magic, send your products to the lab, and get everything back to you before Santa does his rounds.

I always recommend booking your session before 1st December if you’d like physical products such as framed prints, canvases, or albums ready to pop under the tree.

Missed the sleigh? Don’t worry!

If life gets hectic (and let’s be honest, it usually does), there’s still a way to give something meaningful: a JB Moments Photography gift voucher.

It’s the perfect way to say “I love you and want to capture our memories together” — even if the session happens in the New Year.

You can choose the amount, and your recipient can pick the type of session they want — family, pet, couples, or even a personal branding shoot for the business-savvy person in your life. Or you can choose a session type that will be perfect for them.

No stress. No queues. Just thoughtful giving, beautifully wrapped up in memories waiting to be made.

This Christmas, skip the socks

Socks go missing. Candles burn out. But photos?
They become treasured heirlooms — a little slice of life you can return to again and again.

So, whether you’re planning ahead for prints or opting for a gift voucher, give the gift of memories this Christmas.
Because honestly, nothing says love quite like a picture that tells your story.
