Family Weekend

I had a brilliant weekend of shoots last weekend. First up on Saturday was a Golden Wedding Anniversary celebration in Perthshire and then on Sunday the first of my two Birthday Competition Winners came into the studio to get their free shoot.

Family is Golden

Jo one of the happy couple’s five children got in touch to see if I’d be willing to go up to Alexander House in Auchterarder to capture the family as part of the celebrations. “There will be 12 adults, 13 children, 1 baby and two dogs, is that okay?”, she said. Hell yeah! I love these kinds of shoots 🙂

I must confess I’d never heard of the place they’d hired for the get together with family coming from as far as Australia for the occasion. A quick google showed just how special Alexander House was. Wow, I couldn’t wait to see it.

Family is formal

Saturday was a beautiful summers day so we were able to take advantage of the lush green garden and rolling Perthshire countryside in the background.

As my fee includes all the edited images from the session I wanted to give this lovely family all the group variations I could think of including each couple with and without their offspring.

Everybody started off in quite formal groupings but as the hour progressed everybody got much more relaxed.

I absolutely adore this one with all their grandchildren.

Golden advice

I always ask anniversary couples what their secret is to wedded bliss. After all, 50 years happily married is quite an achievement.

Having fun and listening to each other was the sage advice from this pair of love birds.

Family is fun

I mentioned that we started off formal but we finished anything but! For my last couple of images, I suggested all the guys together and then all the girls.

I really enjoyed hanging out with this wonderful family. In case you weren’t aware, I love my job!

I love Lucy

JB Moments Photography turned two in June and I ran a competition for two entrants to win a free photoshoot. When the names were picked from my auto selector I was delighted that the first winner was Lucy and her family.

I first met Lucy around her first birthday when she stole my heart at her cake smash. She has big brown eyes like milk chocolate buttons and is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Her mum entered so they could get some family images as they didn’t really have many of the three of them together. I did that, but I also couldn’t resist getting some more images of Lucy by herself.

She was rocking the toy camera much better than I look with the real thing.

And she was absolutely delighted with her mum’s bubble blowing skills!

Okay, the last one I promise, but she was just an adorable little dot sitting in the big grown-up chair.

I love capturing Family images, big or small. As Michael J. Fox once said,

“Family is not an important thing. It’s everything.”
