Photography Update
Last weekend was very enjoyable and busy for JB Moments Photography.
First Holy Communion
Mum, Kelly reached out to me ages ago about photographing her sons’ first communion. What she said was ‘photos are really important to me’ and as that is music to my ears I was delighted to attend and shoot their first holy communion (and mine).
The boys looked so smart in their matching kilts.
St. Vincents in East Kilbride was packed to the rafters for this special event. Only the parents could fit in the actual chapel so extended family watched on big screens in the side chapel.
The boys celebrated their day with their parents, big sister, grandparents, uncle and close friends that had travelled all the way from Spain for the event. I think they also brought the sunshine with them as it was a glorious Saturday.
Afterwards, it was onto a reception nearby to celebrate in style with all their family and friends.
Call my agent
Sunday morning I had a V.I.P. (very important pooch) in the studio for his photo shoot. Brodie Bear came complete with his designer bowls, bottled water and freshly cooked chicken (courtesy of his vegetarian human!).
But when you look as cute as this little fellow you can get away with it. He was very well behaved and didn’t mind giving me plenty of kisses!
I bought these digital backgrounds to use with newborns (that’s what they were designed for) but I have a thing for putting dogs in them so I had to give Brodie Bear the same treatment!
Smash and Splash
Then in the afternoon, it was time to transform the studio into a pink and purple themed party for Kayla’s first birthday cake smash.
I don’t know what possessed me to get the cake with hundreds and thousands all over it…I just thought it would look good with her colour scheme. They went EVERYWHERE! I have a feeling I’m going to be finding them for weeks to come.
This little lady wasn’t into it at first but with the help of some Peppa Pig on mums phone, some enthusiastic singing from gran and some expert bubble blowing from dad we got there in the end! Doesn’t she have the most amazing blue eyes?
New for cake or doughnut smashes going forward is the option of a ‘splash’ session at the end. At the moment I am trialling them but later in the year, they will become a chargeable extra.
Armed with organic bubble bath, a bubble machine and a mutant rubber ducky they are a fun way to get some of the cake of your little one before you take them home!
This weekend wedding season has started for me with a stunner of a location and then a newborn girl on Sunday (SQUEEEE!). Watch out for future blogs featuring them 🙂
