Inchyra Grange – Alisha and Fred’s Wedding
“The only reason for time is so that everything doesn’t happen at once.” — Albert Einstein
Worth The Wait
Picture the scene…twenty-eight years ago in a nightclub in Windsor. The nightclub owner took full advantage of the fact that Heathrow Airpot was nearby and let ladies in for free. The place was full of beautiful BA airport staff like Alisha. It was also why Fred and his pals would pay full price to enter said nightclub! On this particular night, Fred caught Alisha’s eye across the smoke-filled dancefloor and a move was made.
Fast forward through ten more years of dating and Fred and Alisha finally decided to get a house together.
Then about a year ago our couple were watching ‘Murder in Provence’ and the topic of marriage came up and they decided to go for it. As Alisha said to me during our consultation, “We don’t do anything quickly!”.
Scottish Wedding
Despite living in the South of England, Alisha is originally from Scotland and wanted to get married in the motherland. Cue having to plan a wedding and pick vendors 400+ miles from where you live. I’m just glad they saw something they liked on my website and picked me 🙂
Nerves
September has been a bit of a mixed-bag weather wise but the sun was shining brightly when I arrived at their venue, The Inchyra Grange (albeit a bit blustery).
Once the guests were rounded up from enjoying the sunshine outside it was time for the ceremony to begin.
I asked Fred for some pictures of him and his best man and he was very nervous.
Alisha and her mum managed bigger smiles before they walked down the aisle but Alisha was also very nervous.
But all those nerves dissipated as soon as they saw one another and could hold each other’s hands.
Husband and Wife At Last
After a sweetly short ceremony witnessed by their close family, Alisha and Fred were finally declared husband and wife.
Hold Onto Your Hats
I gathered everyone outside in a shaded spot for the group pictures and the wind really was licking up. Luckily no one lost a fascinator or hat but there were a few close shaves!
Looking Good
Then it was time for some bride and groom formals. My couple had not been looking forward to this part but I promised them it would be fun and it was.
Once they relaxed into it I think they enjoyed themselves.
And we got gorgeous images like this. I couldn’t resist showing them the back of the camera after I captured this one. To show them how fantastic they looked.
The Inchyra also has a lovely staircase and Alisha’s dress was perfect to be shown off on it.
Dancing Shoes
They might have met on a nightclub dancefloor but their first dance was to a live singer and it wasn’t long before the rest of the wedding party joined in.
It might have taken them 28 years to get married but I think it was definitely worth the wait.
Congratulations again Mr & Mrs Mills xXx
