(Spoiler: It’s Still Perfect)
If the thought of booking a family photo session fills you with equal parts excitement and mild panic — you’re not alone.
I hear it all the time:
“What if the kids won’t sit still?”
“What if someone has a meltdown?”
“What if the baby decides today is the day to nap NEVER?”
And here’s my honest answer:
It’s completely okay.
In fact, it’s completely normal.
I’ve worked with dozens (okay, hundreds) of families — from brand new bundles of joy to whole clans with teenagers, pets, and everything in between. And not once has a session been ruined because someone didn’t behave “perfectly.”
Real life is beautifully messy
We’re not aiming for perfection. We’re aiming for real.
The snuggles when someone’s shy. The giggles mid-wriggle. The proud look you give your child just for being them. These are the moments I live to capture.
Sometimes the most treasured image from a session is the one you didn’t expect — a sibling comforting another, a parent laughing through the chaos, or a toddler pulling a face only you recognise.
My job? To create calm from the chaos
I bring toys. I bring patience. I bring silly noises and weird crouching poses (you’ll see). But most of all, I bring experience — and a whole lot of calm energy.
Sessions with me are relaxed, flexible, and often filled with unexpected joy.
No one is expected to “perform.”
You’ll never hear me say “say cheese.” And I try and discourage you from saying it too.
I’m much more interested in what happens in-between the smiles.
You just need to show up — as you are
Whether it’s a newborn session where baby needs cuddles between shots, or a maternity shoot where you’re feeling not quite yourself — that’s all welcome here.
You don’t need to prep for perfection.
You just need to show up as your beautiful, messy, real self.
I’ll take care of the rest.
