Smash & Splash
Cake for Breakfast? – Yes Please!
I first met Hamish and his big sister Amber in November last year when their mum brought them into the studio for a Christmas Mini Session. Fast forward to last week and Hamish came into the studio celebrate his first birthday with a smash and splash. 10 am date with a huge cake? I’m game!
But first, before the mess and chaos. Some ‘nice’ photos with his big sister Amber.
Cake Time
At first, Hamish wasn’t sure about the cake but he sure did love bashing it with the wooden spoon I’d provided.
Eventually, with some help from mum, he got stuck in with his hands and even his feet at one point!
By the end of the smash part, Hamish and the studio were covered in cake!
Splashing Around
Hamish loves taking a bath so when we bought in the tub of soapy water he couldn’t wait to get into it.
Amber did a brilliant job as my bubble assistant! She has a job for life if she wants it 🙂 (I pay in lollipops for those also interested).
This is my favourite photo from the whole session. I just love how happy Hamish is.
Amber Again
Once the studio was clean of cake and bubbles it was time for my afternoon session. Another Amber (what are the chances of two in one day?!) this time only 4 months new.
Amber was bright as a button and has the most gorgeous blue eyes. She was absolutely delicious to cuddle and had a really infectious laugh.
Mum had bought some cute outfits with her so we could have plenty of costume changes. I was also conscious that mum had missed out on a shoot in the weeks after Amber was born so I wanted to try and get some ‘newborn style’ images as well.
I often shoot newborns in what I call the ‘tucked up’ pose and Amber totally nailed this alongside one of her favourite teddies. Just too cute.
All in all a very good day in the studio 🙂
