My Top 3 Locations for Personal Brand Photoshoots
Most of the time I love shooting in my little home studio. I can control the light, the background, and work in my slippers! But it is good to mix it up from time to time and for my personal branding clients, I love to see what I can create in different spaces for them. That’s why before each Brand photo shoot I like to have a pre-consult with my client to not just find out about their business brand and ethos but the places they like to meet clients, showcase their work, or simply hang out in their free time.
I thought I would share my favourite types of locations with you in reverse order!
3. Architecture
I love a trip into a town or city and finding doorways, archways, and buildings that will help frame my subject.
Bonus points collected if the door is painted in one of your brand colours!
2. Out And About At Locations They Frequent
This is a fabulous way to build connection with my clients, exercise my creative muscle, and provide them with images that will show their true selves to their audiences.
It could be a place they like to walk, exercise or relax in.
A local coffee shop or restaurant they like to work in or meet clients in.
Or even on the school run.
The best part is that even if a client picks the same location as someone else I get to make it unique to them.
Finally and probably a bit obviously…
1. In Their Place Of Work
Now this could be a home office (complete with office dog).
It could be a physical shop or business premises.
I love capturing clients ‘in the act’ of what they do. Which might be steaming garments.
Training dogs.
Or recording a voiceover
Now you might say, ‘But I work from home and don’t have a physical desk or office space’. And that’s fine. I capture you in areas of your house that will make for good images.
My goal is to make sure you have a curated library of on-brand images that you can use in every aspect of your business.
So Studio Is A No Go For Personal Brand Images?
I didn’t say that, it’s just not my favourite place to creatively show off what you and your business are all about. Take this recent personal branding shoot I did in my studio.
This image is kick a$$, on brand, and super cool (even if I do say so myself!)!
So there you have it. My three fave places to do Personal Brand photo shoots. Do any of those resonate with you?
